Maharashtra BJP's Grand Gathering in Shirdi to Commemorate Swami Vivekananda's 162nd Birth Anniversary in January

Mumbai, Dec 13 (NationPress) The Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will celebrate the 162nd birth anniversary of the renowned philosopher-monk Swami Vivekananda by organizing a grand convention in the revered town of Shirdi, Ahmednagar next month, as disclosed by a senior party official on Friday.

State BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that the convention, scheduled for January 12, will feature addresses from key party leaders, including BJP President and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, as well as Union Home Minister Amit Shah among others.

This convention holds great significance, occurring just two months after the party and its MahaYuti allies, including Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party, achieved a resounding victory in the November 20 Assembly elections.

In celebration of this monumental MahaYuti victory, the event will also honor Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his pivotal role in the electoral triumph that effectively dismantled the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance.

The gathering gains additional importance as it precedes the eagerly awaited municipal and local bodies elections slated for early 2025.

The date of the convention, January 12, aligns with the celebration of the 162nd birth anniversary of the iconic figure, Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902), who entered the annals of history with his memorable address, "Sisters and Brothers of America..." at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago (1893).

"Inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, a new initiative will be launched at the Shirdi convention aimed at motivating the youth and drawing them towards the BJP," remarked Bawankule.

With over 10,000 BJP office-bearers and youth activists expected to attend from across the state, Bawankule emphasized that this event will be crucial for the party's forthcoming strategies, including increasing engagement with young people.

Remarkably, this will mark the first significant party event in the state following the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections held in the first and second halves of 2024, with an optimistic atmosphere prevailing for the upcoming local body elections.

The MahaYuti faced a substantial setback in the Lok Sabha polls, but within six months, it managed to recover, culminating in a decisive victory over the MVA in the Assembly elections.
