PM Modi Honors Swami Vivekananda as a Timeless Motivation for Youth

New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of his birth anniversary, noting that he serves as a timeless source of motivation for the youth.
In a post shared on X, PM Modi stated: "Today, we pay tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his Jayanti. He is a lasting motivation for the youth, igniting both passion and purpose in young minds. We are dedicated to realizing his vision of a robust and developed India."
The PM also shared a video showcasing Swami Vivekananda's philosophies. He expressed that this day celebrates India's youth power, honoring the great figure who infused India with renewed vigor during the British colonial period. "Swami Vivekananda emphasized that the aspirations of India rest on the character, commitment, and intellectualism of its youth. His guidance continues to serve as a profound inspiration for the youth of India," PM Modi remarked.
"Two key messages from Swami Vivekananda should resonate with every Indian youth: institution and innovation. Institutions are built when we broaden our ideas and collaborate with a team spirit. Every young individual must transform personal achievements into collective success. This collaborative spirit will propel India towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat," PM Modi elaborated in the video.
January 12 is recognized as the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of the nation's most pivotal spiritual leaders and thinkers. This day is celebrated as National Youth Day, aimed at motivating the younger generation to pursue both personal growth and societal advancement.
To honor the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, PM Modi will take part in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 at Bharat Mandapam on Sunday.
He will interact with 3,000 vibrant young leaders from various parts of India and will also address the assembly.
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue seeks to depart from the traditional format of the National Youth Festival, aligning with the Prime Minister's call on Independence Day to engage one lakh youths in politics without political affiliations, providing them a national platform to turn their ideas for Viksit Bharat into reality.
As per the government press release, "On this National Youth Day, the Prime Minister will participate in numerous activities designed to inspire, motivate, and empower the future leaders of the nation. Innovative young leaders will present ten PowerPoint presentations on ten thematic areas crucial for India's development to the Prime Minister. These presentations will showcase innovative ideas and solutions proposed by young leaders to tackle some of India's most pressing issues.
The Prime Minister will also unveil a collection of the best essays submitted by participants on the ten themes, covering diverse topics such as technology, sustainability, women empowerment, manufacturing, and agriculture.
In a distinctive setting, the Prime Minister will share lunch with the young leaders, allowing them to directly communicate their ideas, experiences, and aspirations with him. This personal interaction aims to bridge the gap between governance and youth ambitions, fostering a stronger sense of ownership and responsibility among the participants. During the dialogue, the young leaders will engage in competitions, activities, and cultural presentations, alongside discussions on the themes led by mentors and domain experts. The event will also feature cultural performances that highlight India's artistic heritage while showcasing its modern advancements.
