Nagpur, Dec 7 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took a stand on Sunday, firmly rejecting the claims made by the Opposition that the state government has ignored the farmers affected by rain and floods.
He also addressed the assertion that Maharashtra is on the brink of bankruptcy, clarifying that the state ranks among the larger states with a robust economy operating within key parameters.
These comments were made during a press interaction following the Cabinet meeting and the traditional tea gathering, which precedes the week-long Winter session beginning Monday.
Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that 92 percent of farmers, equating to nearly 90 lakh individuals, have already received financial support, while 12 lakh farmers facing KYC complications will soon receive assistance from the government.
"The Opposition, which missed the customary tea meeting, should base their claims about farmers' issues on thorough research," he remarked.
He noted that the state has already provided financial aid to 10,000 farmers impacted by floods.
