“If the opposition is fixated on Aurangzeb and Kunal Kamra, the government should not be held accountable for that,” he remarked in response to the opposition's allegations that the ruling coalition was focusing on the removal of Aurangzeb’s grave and Kunal Kamra, neglecting significant issues.
“We aimed to work for six hours a day in the session, yet we worked for nine hours. Topics concerning farmers, workers, and the Budget were thoroughly discussed in the House. We cannot assist if the opposition is only focused on graves and jobs. For us, the 13 crore citizens of the state are more crucial than graves and jobs. We made decisions with their welfare in mind,” the Chief Minister stated, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, following the end of the four-week Budget session.
“Despite the opposition party lacking many members in the House, we still provided them with ample opportunity, listened to their concerns, and addressed their inquiries,” he added, countering the opposition's claim of inadequate time during House proceedings.
The Chief Minister also expressed optimism that the state's development would accelerate as the Budget, containing numerous policies aimed at the state's progression, has been approved.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde mentioned, “We have sustained all schemes, development projects, and welfare initiatives, ensuring the economy remains stable.”
He further noted that the opposition is anxious about the potential cessation of schemes and development projects, questioning how salaries will be disbursed; however, this phase of the MahaYuti government has commenced with vigor.
“We prioritize action without diminishing the pace of development. The opposition has been content to protest outside. They ought to engage in discussions within the hall. There is no extra-constitutional government; we have a government supported by 237 members,” he declared.
The Deputy Chief Minister also affirmed that the government intends to fulfill all commitments outlined in the manifesto prior to the state Assembly elections.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced that while raising notable issues is welcomed, the government will request the Assembly Speaker to ensure that only pertinent issues are discussed and those outside the criteria are excluded.
He mentioned that the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition will be determined by the Speaker. “The Speaker of the Assembly possesses the authority to appoint the Leader of the Opposition. We will comply with that decision,” he concluded.
