New Delhi, March 21 (NationPress) Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut made pointed remarks on Friday during a discussion in the Rajya Sabha regarding the Ministry of Home Affairs and the political discourse surrounding the name of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

Raut stated, “If you wish to destroy Aurangzeb’s tomb, proceed; no one is stopping you. Your administration is in charge both at the Centre and in Maharashtra.” He further expressed, “It is astonishing to see some MPs debating Aurangzeb in discussions concerning the Home Ministry. What a time we live in when members of the Upper House are engaged in discussions about Aurangzeb, and I hold the Home Ministry accountable for this. There are elements attempting to instigate unrest by persistently mentioning Aurangzeb’s name.”

Additionally, he remarked, “Grab a shovel and go ahead to demolish Aurangzeb's tomb. But let your children undertake this task; don’t involve ours. Your children are abroad for studies and work, while you’re diverting the minds of the impoverished, unemployed youth to engage in this.”

Raut accused several ministers from Maharashtra and senior officials at the Centre of attempting to disrupt national unity and integrity. He warned that if these forces were not curtailed, the nation’s unity would be jeopardized. “The Home Ministry’s duty should be to uphold unity and integrity, yet it has transformed into a mechanism for weakening opposition parties, fracturing political groups, and even assisting in the procurement of MPs and MLAs with police support,” Raut claimed.

Furthermore, Uddhav Thackeray’s party MP Raut pointed out that while Manipur is already engulfed in turmoil, Maharashtra is now also being ignited by these forces. He asserted that “dead bodies are being exhumed to make way for new ones, all in the name of Aurangzeb.”

Raut emphasized that in the last 300 years, Nagpur, a city in Maharashtra, had never experienced riots. He concluded, “Nagpur, a city with such a rich history, has never witnessed riots, and now, in the constituency of our Maharashtra Chief Minister, riots are occurring.”
