Ahmedabad, Feb 19 (NationPress) The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch has taken into custody two suspects from Maharashtra for allegedly breaching and disseminating CCTV footage of women undergoing medical examinations at a Rajkot hospital. The suspects are said to have shared the footage on a Telegram channel.

According to investigators, the breach was executed using the hospital's IP address. The detained individuals will be transported to Gujarat shortly for additional inquiries.

Authorities disclosed that the culprits were apprehended in various districts of Maharashtra. They have a history of distributing explicit videos through similar platforms. The ongoing investigation seeks to uncover additional individuals affiliated with this cybercrime network. The probe commenced after videos featuring women undergoing gynaecological treatments appeared on Telegram and a YouTube channel titled MeghaMbbs -m5j.

The footage has been traced back to Payal Maternity Home in Rajkot, a facility established in 1998 that has reportedly conducted over 37,000 deliveries and 21,000 surgeries.

Currently, at least six such videos have been discovered circulating on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). A Telegram channel affiliated with the accused claims to have over 90 similar videos. Investigators from the Ahmedabad Cyber Cell are collaborating with Rajkot police to trace the origins of the footage and dismantle the distribution network.

The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch is examining a suspected national syndicate involved in uploading videos of maternity patients' medical exams and treatments on YouTube and Telegram for monetary gain.

The unauthorized distribution of CCTV footage was traced back to Payal Maternity Home & Surgical Hospital in Rajkot. Following a formal complaint, a team from Ahmedabad Cyber Crime conducted a raid at the hospital, gathering statements from doctors and staff. Sources indicate that the illicit trade of viral childbirth videos spans multiple states.

Initial investigations suggest that organized gangs operating in at least three states, including Gujarat, are behind this scandal. Authorities are now working to identify key players in the network and dismantle their operations.
