Mumbai, March 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, unveiled a comprehensive report detailing the progress made by the state's Energy Department during the initial 100 days of his administration.

This report emphasizes the performance of major public sector energy firms, such as Mahavitaran, Mahagenco, Mahatransco, and MahaUrja.

With a forward-looking strategy for the state's energy landscape, Chief Minister Fadnavis has laid out a plan aimed at fulfilling Maharashtra’s energy requirements over the next quarter-century.

In line with this vision, specific objectives were established for public electricity companies during the initial 100 days, and their accomplishments have been cataloged in the report titled "Hundred Days for Twenty-Five Years."

The document was prepared by Vishwas Pathak, an Independent Director at Mahavitaran, and was presented during a meeting of the MSEB Holding Company.

According to the report, within the first 100 days, Mahavitaran filed a petition with the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission advocating for a reduction in electricity tariffs. Furthermore, a detailed energy transition plan focused on renewable energy has been crafted, which is anticipated to considerably lower electricity procurement costs and enable tariff cuts.

The Energy Department has successfully achieved the majority of its set targets within the specified timeframe. Significantly, the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Pump Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme have surpassed their goals by deploying solar-powered agricultural pumps and rooftop solar panels for residential users.

Key milestones reached by the energy firms include the provision of new electricity connections, ensuring a consistent power supply, addressing consumer grievances, enhancing the capacity of power substations and distribution systems, initiating green hydrogen projects, and converting government offices to solar energy.

A government announcement indicated that the Energy Department has distinguished itself as a frontrunner in fulfilling its 100-day plan. Chief Minister Fadnavis has set a new standard by launching the practice of publishing progress reports for his own department.
