Mumbai, July 15 (NationPress) The Industry Minister Uday Samant announced in the state assembly that Maharashtra is leading the nation as the first state to implement the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the World Economic Forum held in Davos.
This year, a significant MoU worth Rs 15.74 lakh crore has been established in Davos.
Thanks to this industry-friendly climate, the state has seen the emergence of 62,000 new entrepreneurs over the past three years through the Chief Minister's Employment Generation Program. Maharashtra has also introduced a pioneering white paper focused on the industrial sector.
While addressing a resolution discussed under Rule 293 by opposition parties, the minister emphasized the state government's commitment to achieving balanced growth within the industrial sector.
The Industry Minister further highlighted a newly initiated District Industry Council designed to motivate entrepreneurs to invest, leading to over Rs 1 lakh crore in investments this year.
“The influx of foreign investments has been consistently rising over the past three years. Notably, Reliance Industries Group is set to establish an aircraft manufacturing facility in the state, with land being allocated by the government. We are dedicated to ensuring the project's success within Maharashtra,” stated the minister.
He noted the transformation of the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli district into an industrial hub due to the burgeoning steel industry, which has attracted Rs 1 lakh crore in investments.
Additionally, the PM Mitra Textile Park is being developed in Amravati, while the semiconductor industry and 'Defence Cluster' are underway in Ratnagiri. The state is actively acquiring thousands of acres for new industrial estates to meet growing demands. The government is committed to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering industrial growth, assured Minister Samant.
In his dual role as the Minister of Marathi Language, Samant asserted that any disrespect towards the Marathi language would not be tolerated. The government is taking stringent measures to promote the language, including the establishment of the finest literary museum in the country.
“Our initiatives aim to promote Marathi not only within India but globally. This year’s World Marathi Conference is scheduled to take place in Nashik. Furthermore, the Brihan Marathi Mandal has been established in 74 Marathi-speaking countries, with active participation in 17 locations. A Marathi Literature Conference for the youth will also be organized,” concluded the minister.
