Mumbai, Dec 5 (NationPress) Revenue Minister and former state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule remarked on Friday that Maharashtra is on a strong trajectory towards sustainable growth under the stewardship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He indicated that the MahaYuti government has enacted transformative decisions across various sectors, enhancing the speed of development.
Speaking to reporters, he celebrated the first anniversary of the MahaYuti government.
Minister Bawankule highlighted that the administration is committed to inclusive development, mirroring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed Maharashtra by 2047.
“The Mahayuti government has set new standards for progress in every sector over the past year, greatly elevating the quality of life for ordinary citizens through digital services and enhanced transparency,” he stated.
He enumerated numerous achievements, including a swift relief package of Rs 32,000 crore for farmers affected by severe weather conditions and initiatives to address drought, such as a halt on crop loan recovery.
The minister noted that animal husbandry and fisheries have been officially recognized as part of agriculture, and multiple initiatives were launched to boost irrigation capacity.
“Within the year, 37,166 water conservation projects have been completed as part of the revitalized Jalyukt Shivar 2.0 scheme. Projects for river linking have been sanctioned, along with substantial funds for lift irrigation initiatives,” he added.
Bawankule mentioned that the government has prioritized enhancing the state's infrastructure with significant funding approvals, stating that the Samruddhi Mahamarg (Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway) is now fully operational.
“Preparations for key projects like the Shaktipeeth Expressway, Vadhavan Port, and Offshore Airport are underway. A budget of Rs 4,826 crore has been allocated for acquiring 238 new local trains for Mumbai, along with substantial funding approved for overall railway service enhancements. Approval for Metro 11 has also been granted,” he elaborated.
To foster the energy transition and promote renewable energy, the Saurgram Yojana (Solar Village Scheme) has been initiated in 100 villages.
Furthermore, Maharashtra achieved unprecedented Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 16 lakh crore at the World Economic Forum in Davos, securing its position as a leader in implementation with a remarkable 80 percent progress.
“Foreign investment in Maharashtra surged by 34 percent in 2024-25 compared to the previous year, amounting to Rs 1,64,875 crore. New policies in industry, electronics, and gems and jewellery were introduced to stimulate the manufacturing sector,” he noted.
According to the minister, the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has mandated a reduction in electricity tariffs for all consumer categories (domestic, industrial, and commercial) over the next five years, based on a proposal from Mahavitaran.
The Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (Health Scheme) has been expanded to encompass 2,399 ailments.
“Out of the 30 lakh homes approved for Maharashtra under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 4,91,278 houses have been completed,” he added.
The minister also mentioned that significant efforts have been made to safeguard the state's rich heritage, including the establishment of a Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial in Agra and a Rs 5,503 crore fund allocated for developing pilgrimage sites during the 300th birth anniversary year of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar.
