Agartala, May 13 (NationPress) Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized that his administration prioritizes development and transparency, while criticizing the Opposition for presenting misleading information and politically driven accusations.

During a formal appointment ceremony at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala, where 975 new police constables were handed their appointment letters, Saha reaffirmed his government's dedication to ensuring good governance free from nepotism or political influence.

“This large-scale recruitment—comprising 643 male and 332 female police constables—marks a significant step in bolstering our law enforcement. Each appointment stems from a clean and transparent merit-based process, devoid of political agendas,” stated the Chief Minister, also overseeing the Home portfolio.

Saha revealed plans for further recruitments, including 916 constables, 218 Sub-Inspectors, and 6,067 Special Executives, emphasizing that all selections will be conducted fairly and without bias.

“The era of job distributions based on protests or political affiliation is over,” Saha declared.

“We have dismantled that outdated system. Today, your merit and dedication are what truly matter,” he added.

At the ceremony, families of the newly appointed constables expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the government's commitment to a fair hiring process.

Anjuli Shil, mother of a new constable, remarked, “My son has dedicated himself to this opportunity. We are thankful to the Chief Minister for ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process, which inspires hope.”

Sima Datta shared a similar sentiment: “In the past, I had witnessed appointments going to the well-connected. However, this government has proven that merit is the key to securing a job. I’m truly appreciative.”

Biprojit Paul, one of the newly appointed constables, stated, “This job means everything to me. I take pride in serving the people of Tripura and am grateful for the fair selection process.”

Sabana Begam, also a new recruit, expressed, “It feels incredible. My entire family is overjoyed today. I thank the government for this opportunity.”

CM Saha highlighted significant advancements in law and order under his guidance: Tripura now ranks as the third-lowest in crime rate nationally, traffic accidents decreased by 13 percent in 2024, and by 40 percent in the first four months of 2025, drug seizures surged by 106 percent and the destruction of narcotics increased by 132 percent in 2024, while collaborative efforts by Tripura Police, TSR, and BSF resulted in an 18 percent rise in FIRs and a 36 percent jump in arrests for illegal infiltration from Bangladesh. Overall, he noted, Tripura has experienced a 30 percent reduction in crime over the last decade.

The Chief Minister also issued a stern warning against those disseminating false information or provocative content online. “We are vigilantly monitoring digital platforms. Anyone attempting to incite unrest or spread misinformation will face stringent consequences,” Saha cautioned.

Emphasizing his administration's employment initiatives, Saha mentioned that 4,499 appointment letters were distributed across various departments between February 2 and May 13, 2025. Since March, a total of 17,554 government jobs have been filled through what he described as a “transparent and rule-based system.”

CM Saha also expressed his unwavering support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi following Operation Sindoor. “The PM’s message resonates with the principles of Syama Prasad Mukherjee —nationalistic, resolute, and clear in his priorities,” Saha remarked.

Regarding relations with Pakistan, he reiterated the PM's stance that India desires peace, but “trade and terrorism cannot coexist.” The future of bilateral relations, he noted, hinges on Pakistan’s actions.
