Key Takeaways
Imphal, April 16 (NationPress) On Thursday, Manipur's Chief Minister, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, unveiled four innovative digital platforms aimed at revolutionizing governance and enhancing service delivery throughout the state.
An official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) revealed that the four newly launched portals include the Centralised RTI State Portal, e-Seba Manipur, Explore Manipur, and an AI-driven Scheme Finder. These platforms have been meticulously developed by the Department of Information Technology.
These initiatives reflect the state government's dedication to harnessing digital technology to promote transparency, efficiency, and a citizen-focused approach to governance.
As stated by the official, the Centralised RTI State Portal will empower citizens to file and monitor their Right to Information (RTI) requests online. This platform is aligned with the Supreme Court's directive from March 20, 2024, which mandates the establishment of online RTI systems. It is anticipated to bolster transparency and accountability across all governmental branches.
Currently, 287 departments and administrative units have been incorporated into the system, with 266 Public Information Officers already registered, as noted by the official.
The e-Seba Manipur platform is an advanced service delivery framework designed to offer secure and effortless access to government offerings. It builds on the previous e-services platform that successfully facilitated 35 services across various districts, resulting in over 34 lakh transactions.
Essential services from the Revenue Department and Employment Exchange—including certificates for domicile, income, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC)—as well as employment-related services, are integrated into this new platform.
This system is crafted to provide both online and assisted access, particularly aiding citizens in remote and underserved regions.
Explore Manipur serves as a comprehensive digital resource designed to help users better discover and experience the state. It features smart search capabilities, interactive maps, and extensive information on tourism, religious sites, markets, transportation, and government services. The platform is expected to bolster smart tourism initiatives and improve access to vital information for both locals and tourists.
The AI-driven Scheme Finder aims to assist citizens in effortlessly identifying government schemes that meet their specific needs. By analyzing user input, this tool suggests relevant central and state government schemes. This initiative is in line with the broader objectives of Digital India and the vision of “AI for All,” enhancing awareness and facilitating access for eligible beneficiaries to government support.
Overall, these initiatives emphasize the state government's ongoing commitment to utilizing technology to enhance governance, improve service delivery, and empower its citizens.
The launch event was graced by notable figures including Home Minister Konthoujam Govindas Singh, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Bajpai, Chief Information Commissioner K. Radhashyam Singh, Commissioner to the Chief Minister N. Ashok Kumar, IT Secretary Somorjit Salam, and several other senior officials.
