Bhopal, March 17 (NationPress) Senior IPS officer and Special Director General of Police (Railway), Manish Shankar Sharma, passed away in the early hours of Monday at a hospital in the national capital.
Manish Shankar Sharma (58), who had been battling illness for an extended period, was hospitalized in New Delhi where he unfortunately succumbed to his condition.
Reportedly, the 1992-batch IPS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre was in Delhi for a medical check-up due to his ongoing health issues when he experienced a cardiac arrest while receiving treatment.
Sharma had a remarkable career serving in various roles within the United Nations, at the Centre, and throughout Madhya Pradesh.
It is worth noting that Sharma's father, Kripa Shankar Sharma, previously held the position of Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh.
Manish Shankar Sharma earned a Master's degree in International Affairs and Public Policy from the University of California, focusing on International Security and Counter-Terrorism.
With over 25 years of diverse governmental experience across four continents, sources indicate that Sharma was a significant figure in law enforcement.
