Amaravati, Jan 5 (NationPress) Mauritian President Dharambeer Gokhool paid his respects at the Panakala Narasimha Swamy Temple located in Mangalagiri on Monday.

The officials of this historic temple provided a traditional reception to the Mauritian leader upon his arrival.

President Gokhool is currently on a five-day journey through Andhra Pradesh. He landed on Saturday and participated in the World Telugu Conference in Guntur on Sunday.

In the meantime, Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to meet with the visiting President later today.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Mauritian leader will also travel to Tirupati and Tirumala to offer prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Temple, along with visits to other temples in Srikalahasti.

Earlier, during his speech at the World Telugu Conference, President Gokhool emphasized that the Telugu language signifies more than mere communication; it embodies a vibrant civilization with a spiritual heritage.

"Telugu transcends being just a language; it represents a living civilization rich in spiritual legacy," he remarked.

He characterized the World Telugu Conference as a pivotal event that brings together the Telugu community from across the globe.

Stressing the importance of the Telugu language, he noted its evolution from regional significance to a global phenomenon, now spoken in over 50 countries.

He acknowledged the substantial contributions of the Telugu community in Mauritius towards nation-building and highlighted that Telugu is taught at various educational levels within Mauritius' formal education system.
