New Delhi, Oct 27 (NationPress) Leaders from various political affiliations conveyed their heartfelt wishes to the public as they celebrated the third day of Chhath Puja on Monday, hoping that this festival infuses new energy and happiness into everyone's lives.
This year, Chhath Puja is observed from October 25 to October 28. The four-day celebration consists of 'Nahay Khay', 'Kharna', 'Sandhya Arghya (evening offering to the setting Sun)', and 'Usha Arghya (morning offering to the rising Sun)'.
On Monday, the focus is on celebrating the third day of Chhath Puja, known as Sandhya Arghya. This day features the preparation of 'prasad' at home, which typically includes thekua, rice laddu sweets, khajuria, tikri, kasar, and various fruits, all presented in small bamboo baskets.
As evening falls, families accompany the devotee to a riverbank, pond, or another significant water body to perform arghya offerings to the setting sun.
Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge shared his wishes on X, stating, "Warm greetings to everyone on this magnificent festival of Chhath, which emphasizes the significance of nature and devotion, highlighting the core values of faith, dedication, and the worship of Lord Sun, the source of energy."
