Lucknow, March 2 (NationPress) In a significant restructuring within the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), chief Mayawati has dismissed her nephew Akash Anand from all party roles, effectively eliminating him as a potential political heir.

During a recent party meeting, the BSP national leader made it clear that no one would take on the role of her successor as long as she is alive.

This latest shake-up follows important discussions where it was decided to appoint Anand Kumar, Akash's father and current party general secretary, alongside Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as the new national co-ordinators.

Mayawati underscored the importance of advancing the Bahujan community in Uttar Pradesh for not only the state's development but for the progress of the entire nation.

She further indicated that Anand Kumar, who serves as the vice-president, will oversee party operations, including matters related to income tax and litigation, in her absence and with her approval.

Mayawati expressed trust in Anand Kumar’s capability to manage party affairs, stating he has consistently shown loyalty to the party's mission.

“In addition to supervising all official duties, he maintains strong connections with workers and the public, providing me with valuable feedback regularly,” she remarked while commending Anand Kumar’s dedication to the party.

Notably, the decision to remove Akash Anand from his role as national co-ordinator stems from negative influence exerted by his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth. Siddharth was expelled from the party previously due to efforts aimed at fostering factionalism and undermining its organizational integrity.

This marks the second occasion Akash Anand has lost his party positions; the first instance was in May 2024, just prior to the Lok Sabha elections. He was reinstated two months later after the elections concluded.

Mayawati reiterated her stance that no successor will be named in the party until her last breath.
