Hyderabad, Dec 21 (NationPress) Meditation is essential for our united advancement toward achieving Viksit Bharat – serving not just as an economic powerhouse but also as a beacon of spirituality, remarked Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan.

He made these comments during the World Meditation Day celebration at Kanha Shanti Vanam, the international headquarters of Heartfulness located nearby.

More than 30,000 individuals participated in person at the world’s largest meditation hall, while an additional million joined virtually from across the globe.

The event, themed ‘One World, One Heart’, was led by Daaji, the guide of Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission.

In attendance were Vice President Radhakrishnan, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu.

The Vice President commended the Heartfulness movement for its unmatched dedication to peace, harmony, and spiritual well-being. The police force in Madhya Pradesh has adopted Heartfulness meditation and reported significant changes in their awareness.

As a global spiritual leader, Daaji has simplified meditation for individuals of all age groups and cultures. His teachings focus on balance, compassion, and inner transformation to foster a sound society through conscious living.

The Vice President expressed that meditation fosters inner peace and clarity of heart and mind. “India's legacy of spiritual wisdom, cultivated by rishis and enriched through the teachings of the Vedas, Upanishads, and Gita, has made remarkable contributions to the world. The true origin of all wisdom leads to the union of jeeva with Shiva,” he stated.

“Through meditation, we surpass the limitations of humanity, moving towards unity with society and nature. Let us set an example through spirituality and sustainability. Embrace mental peace and harmony,” he added.

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma noted that meditation enhances clarity and helps one uncover their true self.

“It guides the inner journey from falsehood to truth, darkness to light, and mortality to immortality. Our ancient wisdom indicates that meditation dissolves the ego, fostering unity among nations; it nurtures wellness, empathy, goodwill, and contentment. This World Meditation Day, collective meditation can uplift humanity from confusion to clarity, division to unity, and impulsiveness to restraint, promoting universal well-being,” he said.

Daaji emphasized that meditation enhances our understanding of life's purpose, yet it requires practice. “The process is facilitated by Pranahuti – a divine energy that accelerates our journey towards the ultimate goal. In Sanskrit, meditation is referred to as Dhyana, derived from Dhi and Yan, akin to a vehicle that transports consciousness to the divine. It serves as a means to shed inertia and achieve a higher state of awareness,” he explained.

“Just as our body requires nourishment, our mind also needs sustenance, which is provided through meditation,” he added.

The session was inclusive, welcoming youth, students, professionals, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. The meditation included the transmission of Pranahuti by Daaji, a yogic energy that facilitates a transition into finer states of consciousness and an innate sense of tranquility.
