Muzaffarnagar, April 6 (NationPress) A minor girl was forcibly taken and gang-raped by two individuals who also recorded the heinous act to use as leverage against her in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district, police officials reported on Sunday.

Following the victim's family's report to the Civil Lines police station regarding the incident that occurred on April 1, authorities have initiated a search for the suspects, identified as Abaz and Rizwan.

The accused have been charged under several legal provisions, including those related to gang-rape, abduction, and pertinent sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Subsequently, the girl was taken to a hospital for a medical examination, as stated by the police.

A police spokesperson revealed that the gang-rape occurred in a hotel after the two men abducted her in a vehicle from Company Bagh on Meerut Road.

The complaint lodged by the girl’s brother indicated that she and her mother had gone shopping, during which they became separated due to heavy traffic.

While waiting on the street after parting from her mother, the girl was forcefully taken into the car by the two suspects, who then drove her to a hotel and gang-raped her.

According to the brother's complaint, the perpetrators threatened the girl with severe repercussions should she disclose the incident to anyone.

This occurrence has brought back memories of a similar tragic incident involving the gang-rape and murder of a 21-year-old woman in Muzaffarnagar in January, committed by a friend who was pressuring her to marry him.

The earlier incident took place in Bawana village in the Budhana area of the district.

The victim was lured from her home, gang-raped, and subsequently strangled, as reported by the police.

The woman’s friend, Ashish, along with two accomplices, Shubham and Deepak, were apprehended, all of whom confessed to their wrongdoing.

Investigations highlighted that Ashish had taken out a loan of Rs 40,000 from a bank to hire the two men, who also incinerated the body post the gang-rape.

Just prior to her abduction, the victim was seen riding a two-wheeler with her brother-in-law.
