Patna, July 28 (NationPress) In a profoundly alarming event, police in Muzaffarpur have taken two individuals into custody related to the gang rape and abduction of a minor Mahadalit girl, as confirmed by officials on Monday.
This case has ignited local outrage and involves a teenage girl from the Aurai police station area of Muzaffarpur district, who went missing on July 26.
According to her family, the young girl had left her home around 11 a.m. on Saturday to get her mobile phone fixed at a nearby shop.
However, she failed to return home that evening.
Her father recounted, “I searched all night but couldn’t find her. On Sunday, around 2 p.m., we received the shocking news that she was admitted in critical condition at a hospital in Sitamarhi.”
Upon investigation, it was discovered that she had been lured by a mobile shopkeeper and his accomplice. When she resisted their advances, the two allegedly kidnapped her in a car, taking her to the highway where they took turns raping her. After the heinous act, they transported her to Pupri area in the neighboring Sitamarhi district, where they abandoned her in the bushes.
She was subsequently found unconscious and gravely injured, suffering from severe head trauma.
The Sitamarhi police located her on Sunday and rushed her to Sadar Hospital.
Due to her deteriorating condition, she was transferred to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur, where she currently remains in critical condition.
Medical professionals have confirmed that she sustained major head injuries and required ten stitches. A neurosurgeon has been consulted regarding her treatment.
In the wake of this incident, a case was registered at the Aurai police station on July 27.
Both suspects, including mobile shop owner Ganesh Kumar Shah and his associate Pintu Sharma, have been apprehended.
Muzaffarpur's ASP (East), Sahriyar Akhtar, stated: “Due to her unconscious state, the victim could not provide a statement. Both suspects were detained swiftly. Further legal proceedings are in progress.”
This incident has sent shockwaves throughout the region, igniting concerns regarding the safety of vulnerable communities, particularly minor girls.
The police have vowed to take strict measures, and legal actions are in progress to ensure justice for the victim.
