Palamu (Jharkhand), Aug 12 (NationPress) A 16-year-old minor girl has reportedly been the victim of a gang-rape incident while attempting to catch a train in Palamu district of Jharkhand on Monday night, as stated by police on Tuesday.
The young girl, who resides in the vicinity of Patan police station in Palamu, was traveling to Punjab with her younger sister. While awaiting their train at the Daltonganj railway station, they were confronted by two men who deceitfully claimed to be police officers.
These men requested the girls’ personal information, including their names and addresses, under the pretense of needing to conduct an interrogation.
Subsequently, they took the sisters on motorcycles to a remote location in the Chainpur area, where the elder sister was allegedly gang-raped. The younger sister was threatened to keep silent.
After the assault, the perpetrators attempted to transport the girls towards Medininagar. However, near Saddiq Manzil Chowk, the younger sister courageously jumped off the bike and called for help. Her cries drew the attention of nearby residents, who immediately alerted the police.
The law enforcement responded quickly, sealing off the area and apprehending the two suspects, identified as Sonu Kumar and Sumit Kumar Soni.
The victim was subsequently taken to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for a medical examination.
