Aizawl, April 5 (NationPress) The government of Mizoram has launched an innovative initiative known as Project Intodelh (Self-Sufficiency) aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students at the secondary and higher secondary levels through financial literacy and life skills training, as reported by an official on Saturday.
A senior official mentioned that the pilot phase of Project Intodelh will educate students on various entrepreneurial facets early on, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their future pursuits.
Mizoram's Education Minister Vanlalthlana, currently in Delhi, presented a comprehensive report on Project Intodelh to NITI Aayog member VK Paul on Friday.
NITI Aayog has acknowledged this initiative as a best practice. Additionally, the state report card for the Random Examination 2024-25, covering Classes III and VI, was also submitted to Paul and recognized as a model document.
The official stated that Vanlalthlana engaged in discussions with Paul, centering on strategies to enhance the education system in Mizoram and encourage technological progress.
The Mizoram Education Minister also touched upon the planned Education Conclave in Mizoram.
Vanlalthlana stressed the importance of this initiative in evaluating the state's educational framework and pinpointing areas needing improvement, especially in translating its commendable literacy rate into superior outcomes in national examinations and increased employability.
Paul expressed strong interest and committed to supporting through the State Support Mission (SSM), according to the official.
Another significant topic of discussion was Healthcare in Schools. NITI Aayog member Paul emphasized the need for a collaborative approach between Mizoram’s Department of School Education and the Department of Health & Family Welfare for the effective implementation of this project.
Vanlalthlana addressed specific challenges faced by the Mizoram government in establishing the Software Technology Park of India (STPI) at the Mizoram University (MZU) campus.
Paul assured that steps would be taken to resolve these issues.
The official reported that the Mizoram Education Minister also held discussions with the Union Minister of DoNER (Development of North Eastern Region) Jyotiraditya Scindia and DoNER Secretary Chanchal Kumar about significant matters related to Mizoram's development.
During the meeting, Vanlalthlana emphasized various developmental priorities for Mizoram and outlined areas that require urgent attention while seeking ongoing support from the Ministry of DoNER.
The Mizoram School Education Minister also discussed essential requirements to enable students to pursue their education independently, particularly in light of infrastructure challenges.
During the meeting with the Union Minister, Mizoram Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha accompanied the Education Minister.
Vanlalthlana had a separate meeting with the DoNER Secretary to discuss various urgent issues impacting Mizoram's development.
