New Delhi, March 9 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a pivotal post-Budget webinar named 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People', where he highlighted the significance of various sectors including education, health, tourism, skills, sports, and culture in fulfilling the aspirations of the populace.
During his speech, the Prime Minister indicated that these sectors act as crucial avenues for realizing public expectations, thereby necessitating dedicated discussions and policy focus.
“The avenues of public aspirations are education, skills, health, tourism, sports, and culture. This is why we are engaging in discussions on these vital areas in this webinar,” stated PM Modi.
He underscored advancements in the healthcare sector, noting India is transitioning towards a holistic approach that prioritizes preventive health. He remarked on the considerable enhancement of the country's health infrastructure in recent years.
“Presently, India is crafting a comprehensive vision aimed at preventive and holistic health. Recently, the nation has significantly bolstered its healthcare infrastructure. Numerous medical colleges have been established across hundreds of districts. The Ayushman Bharat initiative and Arogya Mandirs have significantly improved healthcare access in rural regions. Our traditions of yoga and Ayurveda are gaining global popularity,” he noted.
PM Modi also spotlighted the emerging sector known as the care economy, asserting that demographic shifts and a growing global need for caregivers are set to generate vast employment opportunities.
“The number of senior citizens in our country is projected to grow significantly in the coming decade. Moreover, there is a considerable demand for caregivers worldwide. Consequently, new skill-based job opportunities are emerging for millions of young individuals in the health sector,” he explained.
Encouraging the experts present at the webinar, he urged them to share ideas and suggestions for enhancing the training ecosystem in the nation, particularly regarding the health sector.
He called on specialists to propose innovative training models and collaborations that could uplift skill development and bolster India’s healthcare workforce.
PM Modi also mentioned the increasing significance of telemedicine in expanding healthcare accessibility for individuals in distant and isolated regions. While recognizing the strides made thus far, he emphasized the need to further expand telemedicine's potential.
The Prime Minister acknowledged a shifting mindset among the youth in the country, observing that young individuals from various regions are increasingly enthusiastic about innovation and exploring new opportunities.
“The youth of India, regardless of their region, is eager to achieve something new. This evolving mindset of the new generation is the country’s greatest asset. To harness it, we must improve and modernize our education system. The New Education Policy has already laid the groundwork for this new system. However, it is now vital to update the curriculum to align it with contemporary global economic demands, focusing on AI, manufacturing, automation, digital economy, and a design-driven economy,” he said.
Highlighting the necessity of empowering the youth, the Prime Minister asserted that the nation must create new opportunities to fully unlock their potential.
“The strength of our youth can only be transformed into national power when it is healthy, disciplined, and self-assured,” he remarked.
On the topic of sports development, PM Modi mentioned that the government has been enhancing sports infrastructure nationwide in anticipation of forthcoming international events.
“The Commonwealth Games are set to occur in our country in the next few years, and preparations for the Olympics are underway. In this context, we must identify and cultivate young athletes. Only then can India excel in international competitions,” he added.
