New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi met on Thursday to emphasize the significance of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This partnership is rooted in robust political, cultural, commercial, energy, and people-to-people connections.
During their meeting at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, this marked the Crown Prince's second official visit to India, following his previous trip in September 2024.
“Had a fruitful discussion with His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit in Delhi. We talked about boosting cooperation in futuristic sectors such as AI, supercomputers, and investing in data centres in India,” PM Modi shared on X after the meeting.
Both leaders reflected on the recent successful visits to India by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, along with other members of the Royal families from Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
“The leaders acknowledged the tremendous progress achieved in bilateral relations across various sectors, including defence, security, trade, investment, education, and cultural cooperation. They noted that February 18, 2026, will mark four years since the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), during which bilateral trade and investment have significantly grown,” the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) stated.
“Furthermore, both leaders commended significant two-way investment flows and urged UAE Sovereign Wealth Funds to persist in investing in the Indian economy. They recognized the potential of L'Imad, as the latest sovereign fund, to fortify this partnership for mutual benefit. Collaborative opportunities in strategic sectors such as space, nuclear energy, technology, and innovation were discussed,” it continued.
Prime Minister Modi and the Crown Prince also welcomed several initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in both traditional and emerging areas. This included the finalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and the Ministry of Health and Prevention of the UAE focusing on cooperation in health and medicine. The MoU aims to foster joint efforts in professional exchanges, institutional collaboration, research, digital health, pharmaceuticals, and the development of advanced health technologies.
The finalization of a Term Sheet between the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, G42, and Mohamed Bin Zayed University of AI for the deployment of a supercomputer cluster in India was also celebrated. This initiative, announced jointly by PM Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed during a visit last month, will be integral to the AI India Mission, making it accessible for both public and private sectors for research, application development, and commercial use.
The establishment of an office for the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company in the GIFT City of Gujarat was also welcomed.
The visiting Crown Prince congratulated PM Modi on the success of the AI Impact Summit, while PM Modi appreciated Switzerland's initiative to host the next AI Summit, to be followed by the UAE.
“The visit reaffirmed the tradition of regular leadership-level engagement between India and the UAE, reinforcing a high-level political commitment to the India-UAE technology partnership and elevating AI and advanced technologies as core pillars of this bilateral relationship,” concluded the PMO.
