This significant event, being hosted for the first time in the Global South, has attracted numerous heads of state, prime ministers, presidents, senior officials, and key stakeholders in the Artificial Intelligence sector.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in New Delhi late Wednesday for the AI Impact Summit. He was greeted at the airport by Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani.
In a warm welcome extended to the Crown Prince, the MEA posted on X, "A warm welcome to HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to the AI Impact Summit. MoS for Rural Development and Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani welcomed His Highness upon his arrival at the airport. India and the UAE are esteemed partners in advanced technology, collaborating to leverage AI for a smarter and shared future."
PM Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Thursday. During his address, he highlighted the pride of the Global South in hosting the AI Impact Summit in India, emphasizing the necessity for the responsible and ethical application of artificial intelligence in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
“I welcome everyone to the largest and most historic AI Summit globally. India, the host nation, represents one-sixth of the world; it is a youthful nation and a hub of the world's biggest technological pool and ecosystem. India not only creates new technology but also embraces it,” he remarked.
“It is a point of pride for the Global South to have the AI summit organized in India,” he added.
During his speech, an AI-integrated sign language interpretation was showcased in the background, highlighting the practical use cases of the technology discussed at the summit.
