Chennai, July 21 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin via phone on Monday, expressing concern over his health after the CM's recent admission to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai.

A statement from the state government indicated that numerous prominent national and regional figures, including Rahul Gandhi, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and various alliance leaders, have also contacted Stalin to extend their best wishes for a swift recovery.

Chief Minister Stalin was hospitalized on Monday afternoon after feeling mild dizziness during his usual morning exercise.

An official update from Apollo Hospitals late Monday night confirmed that medical professionals have recommended a three-day rest period for the Chief Minister, alongside additional diagnostic tests. Nevertheless, the report mentioned that Stalin is anticipated to manage his official responsibilities from the hospital during his treatment, suggesting a potentially extended hospital stay.

Visitors to the hospital included Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, his wife Durga Stalin, daughter Senthamarai, Duraimurugan, Minister for Water Resources, and Ma. Subramanian, Health Minister.

After visiting, Duraimurugan assured the public, saying, “The Chief Minister is doing well. He could return home at any moment, even today.”

Prior to his hospitalization, Stalin had a packed agenda, welcoming former AIADMK leader and ex-minister Anwar Raja, who officially joined the DMK at the party headquarters Anna Arivalayam. He also engaged in discussions with a delegation of CPI(M) leaders headed by state secretary P. Shanmugam.

Stalin was scheduled for a two-day tour of Tirupur starting Tuesday, but M.P. Saminathan, the Information and Publicity Minister, announced that all planned activities in Tirupur have been postponed indefinitely due to the Chief Minister’s health status.

Despite the Chief Minister’s hospitalization, Durga Stalin proceeded with her scheduled book release event on Monday evening, suggesting that there were no significant worries regarding Stalin’s condition.

Hospital sources report that Stalin is stable and responding positively to medical guidance, with routine evaluations currently in progress. Further updates are expected in the upcoming days depending on his recovery.
