Chennai, July 26 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who has been receiving treatment at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai since July 21, is anticipated to be discharged on July 27, as per sources associated with the hospital.
The Chief Minister was admitted after experiencing a sudden episode of dizziness during his routine morning walk. Medical professionals conducted several diagnostic tests, including an angiogram, to identify the underlying cause of his symptoms.
A medical update released by the hospital confirmed that the angiogram results were normal and that the Chief Minister's condition is stable.
The announcement further indicated that Stalin underwent a “therapeutic procedure” on July 24, following the advice of a panel of medical experts led by esteemed interventional cardiologist Dr. G. Sengottuvelu.
Despite being hospitalized, the 71-year-old Chief Minister has remained actively involved in overseeing government operations, continuing his duties from the hospital bed.
Hospital sources suggest that unless there are any last-minute medical evaluations, the Chief Minister is set to be discharged on Sunday. After his release, he is likely to rest at home for a few days before gradually resuming his full official duties.
In the meantime, senior cabinet ministers are working closely with him to ensure the seamless functioning of the government.
Earlier this week, a video released from Apollo Hospitals showed Stalin dressed in a lungi, discussing matters with Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials, including his cabinet members. The footage highlighted his resolve to stay engaged with state affairs, even during his recovery.
On Friday, the Chief Minister shared a post on the social media platform X, announcing that he had submitted a petition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu, who is scheduled to deliver it during the PM’s upcoming visit to Tamil Nadu.
The petition outlines requests for timely educational funding, the allocation of the state’s tax share, and other urgent matters affecting the state.
Stalin’s continued involvement in governance while hospitalized has garnered commendation from DMK supporters and political analysts, who view it as a testament to his dedication to the state’s administration.
