New Delhi, April 17 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Harivansh Narayan Singh on his re-election as the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, commending his leadership, discipline, and ongoing contributions to the productivity of the Upper House.

In his address, PM Modi expressed, “I wish to convey my sincere congratulations to Harivansh Ji. His election as Deputy Chairman for a third consecutive term is a testament to the profound trust this House has in him. Under his stewardship, the House has experienced notable enhancements. This is a reflection of his straightforward and effective work ethic. We have all observed how, under his leadership, the House has become increasingly efficient. His extensive experience facilitates the proceedings, ensuring they are precise and fruitful.”

“I firmly believe that during his new term, he will maintain the same commitment and equilibrium. With the cooperation of all members, this House will reach new milestones,” PM Modi stated.

He also noted, “Harivansh Ji hails from the birthplace of Jai Prakash Ji and has actively engaged in village development initiatives since his student years.”

Connecting the moment to history, the Prime Minister remarked, “Today, April 17, 1927, marks the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar. It is indeed serendipitous that Harivansh Ji is assuming this duty on this significant date. He has authored a book about Chandrashekhar Ji, helping to introduce his life and philosophies to contemporary audiences.”

Further, he highlighted, “Harivansh Ji’s public service extends beyond parliamentary responsibilities; he has also made remarkable strides in journalism. He consistently prioritizes human values in his work, and his communication style epitomizes discipline and simplicity.”

“I recall reading his articles when I was in Gujarat. He was known for articulating strong opinions and addressing pivotal issues. In journalism, he always aimed to reach the grassroots level. We can see these qualities reflected in his conduct in the House, which is immensely satisfying,” he added.

PM Modi emphasized, “Both in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, new Members of Parliament can gain invaluable insights from Harivansh Ji.”

He further asserted, “His punctuality and devotion to his duties are commendable. Since he joined the Upper House, he has dedicated himself entirely to its operations.”

“He attentively listens to every issue presented, offering full consideration—this serves as a crucial lesson for all of us,” PM Modi remarked.

“The manner in which he manages the House as Deputy Chairman and contributes as a member has always been highly regarded. His approach to responsibilities outside Parliament is both extraordinary and praiseworthy,” he noted.

“I have observed Harivansh Ji dedicating substantial time to engage with the youth and raise awareness among them. He travels extensively across the nation for this purpose,” he added.

Referencing historical efforts, PM Modi stated, “When he took on the role of Deputy Chairman in 2018, he conducted around 300 programs in colleges and universities. This is a significant achievement—visiting institutions, participating in events, and inspiring students. This is genuinely commendable.”

“The vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 should inspire our youth, and he tirelessly works to communicate this message,” the Prime Minister concluded.
