Meerut, Feb 22 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a strong stance against the Congress party regarding its youth wing's recent shirtless protest at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026. He remarked that the demonstration illustrated how the "oldest political party in the nation has become ideologically bankrupt".

This criticism arose shortly after members of the Youth Congress staged a protest within New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam during the prestigious summit, chanting slogans against PM Modi and the central government regarding issues like "unemployment, inflation, and the alleged India-US trade deal".

While addressing a significant public gathering in Meerut, PM Modi expressed, "Currently, the citizens of India are striving to fulfill the vision of a Viksit Bharat. Yet, some political factions are unable to accept the nation’s progress. Just a few days ago, we hosted the world’s largest AI Summit... No developing nation has witnessed such a historic event. I pose this question to you all: did you not feel a sense of pride in this AI Summit?"

"The entire country felt a wave of pride. However, what did Congress do? They transformed a global occasion into a stage for their sordid and indecent politics. Congress leaders arrived at the venue in a state of undress before international guests," he remarked.

"I challenge the Congress leaders: the nation is aware of your nakedness, so why did you feel the need to remove your garments? This reflects that the oldest party in the country has lost its ideological ground," the Prime Minister stated.

He accused the Congress party of "defaming" the nation, stating, "In a village, when a marriage occurs, everyone contributes to ensure that guests take home a favorable image of the village. However, Congress is preoccupied with tarnishing its own country’s image."

Recalling previous instances, PM Modi asserted, "Congress leaders harbor hatred for Modi. Their aim is to bury me. They do not hesitate to insult my mother. They oppose the BJP and NDA. If this encapsulates your politics, we will accept that as well."

"Nevertheless, they must recognize that the AI Summit was not a BJP event, and no BJP official was present at that time. This was a national event, a product of the nation’s hard work. Yet, Congress has crossed all bounds. Now, the entire nation is condemning the Congress party's principles," he emphasized.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister criticized Congress leaders for "applauding" their youth wing's protest.

"Regrettably, the leaders of the nation’s oldest party commend those who have brought embarrassment to the country instead of reprimanding them," he remarked.

PM Modi also expressed gratitude towards the allies of Congress in the INDIA bloc for denouncing the party's youth wing's shirtless protest, stating, "One reassuring aspect is that all of Congress's allies have had the courage to criticize the party in light of the Delhi incident. I extend my thanks to them for this support."
