New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheaded the celebration of World Wildlife Day, reinforcing India’s dedication to conservation, sustainable practices, and the safeguarding of natural environments.

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of preserving biodiversity and commended the efforts of individuals dedicated to wildlife protection.

“World Wildlife Day celebrates the astonishing diversity of fauna that enriches our planet and sustains our ecosystems. It is a day to recognize all those striving for wildlife conservation. We reaffirm our commitment to conservation, sustainable practices, and habitat protection to ensure our wildlife continues to flourish,” he stated.

Highlighting the NDA government’s initiatives for wildlife, the Prime Minister remarked, “The NDA Government has launched several measures to protect wildlife. This includes the establishment of the International Big Cat Alliance, a unique platform for sharing best practices with other nations. Other initiatives focus on protecting the Great Indian Bustard, Gharial, Sloth Bear, and the translocation of cheetahs.”

PM Modi expressed pride in India being home to some of the globe’s most remarkable wildlife, stating, “We house over 70% of the world’s tiger population, the largest number of one-horned rhinos, and the highest population of Asiatic elephants. India is the only place where the majestic Asiatic lion thrives.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed these sentiments, highlighting India’s enduring cultural connection with nature. “On World Wildlife Day, let us reaffirm Bharat’s age-old principle of living in harmony with nature. From the majestic tiger to the tiniest species, each life form sustains our ecological balance. May this day bolster our commitment to preserving wildlife for future generations,” he posted.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also emphasized the global importance of biodiversity conservation. “On World Wildlife Day, let us honor the incredible biodiversity that supports our planet and inspires humanity. From forests to oceans, every species is crucial for maintaining nature’s equilibrium. Protecting wildlife is not merely a responsibility—it is our obligation to future generations,” he shared on X.

At the state level, various leaders joined in extending their greetings and reaffirming their commitment to environmental protection.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underscored the vital connection between wildlife and human survival. “Wildlife must be preserved for human life to thrive. Heartfelt greetings on World Wildlife Day to all citizens dedicated to nature conservation. Wildlife is an invaluable part of biodiversity and ecological balance. Their conservation is essential for ensuring a secure future for generations to come,” he remarked.

Similarly, J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha extended his wishes, advocating for collective action. “Warm greetings on World Wildlife Day. This is an occasion to celebrate our planet’s rich diversity and renew our commitment to sustainable development and ecological preservation. Let’s unite to conserve wildlife, protect ecosystems, and maintain harmony between human advancement and nature,” he posted.
