PM-KISAN 24th instalment: Modi to release ₹18,680 crore for 9.34 crore farmers on Oct 30
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Bhildi in Gujarat's Banaskantha district on 30 October 2026, channelling financial assistance of more than ₹18,680 crore to over 9.34 crore farmer families across India. The release will coincide with a national-level 'PM Kisan Utsav Diwas' programme, with live telecasts connecting district and cluster-level events across the country.
Gujarat's Share and State-Level Preparations
More than 52.33 lakh farmer families in Gujarat are set to receive over ₹1,051 crore under this instalment. Gujarat Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani disclosed these figures on Wednesday after chairing a preparatory meeting with local administrative officials in Bhildi, followed by a press conference.
Gujarat will host 34 district-level events and more than 2,100 cluster-level programmes, attended by ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, agricultural scientists, and senior officials. In Gandhinagar district, the main event will be held at the Town Hall in Sector 17, with 56 locations across the district hosting live-telecast screenings — two events planned per District Panchayat constituency. Beneficiaries at these venues will also receive approval letters for various Agriculture and Horticulture department schemes.
Key Projects to Be Inaugurated
The event will also feature inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies in the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors. Among the highlights is the inauguration of the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre (BBRC), constructed at a cost of ₹328.77 crore. Banas Dairy's new potato expansion facility and UHT-ASRS facilities will be virtually inaugurated.
Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for two compressed biogas plants at Tharad and Radhanpur, both being developed by Banas Dairy. These projects signal a broader push to diversify agricultural infrastructure in the region.
PM-KISAN Scheme: Cumulative Impact
Since its launch, the first 23 instalments of the PM-KISAN scheme have resulted in the disbursement of more than ₹4.47 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmer families nationwide, according to Minister Vaghani. In Gujarat alone, more than ₹24,137 crore has been distributed to over 69.26 lakh beneficiary farmers across the same period.
The scheme, which provides ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments directly to eligible farmers, has become one of the Centre's flagship direct-benefit transfer programmes since its rollout in 2019. This comes amid sustained government focus on rural income support ahead of multiple state assembly elections.
Modi's Extended Gujarat Visit
The PM-KISAN event is part of a broader two-day Gujarat visit by Prime Minister Modi on 30 and 31 October 2026. On 30 October, he is also scheduled to visit the Bharat Parv pavilion at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar and watch 'Anandamath', a play presented by the National School of Drama.
On 31 October — National Unity Day — Modi will pay floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, attend the 'Aarambh 2026' programme, interact with trainee officers, and preside over the main celebrations at the Parade Ground, where he will inspect the parade and take the salute. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi are also expected to attend. The twin events underscore the political as well as symbolic weight of Modi's Gujarat engagements this week.
