New Delhi, Nov 19 (NationPress) On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. During this national event, he will engage with farmers throughout the nation and connect with beneficiaries of this flagship income-support initiative.
In conjunction with the national rollout, a state-level ceremony will occur in Gandhinagar under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, and Minister of State for Agriculture Ramesh Katara.
As part of this event, the Chief Minister will hand out assistance and approval letters to PM-KISAN beneficiaries as well as to those involved in various agriculture and horticulture initiatives.
Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani noted that over 9 crore farmers nationwide will receive more than Rs 18,000 crore in the 21st instalment.
In Gujarat alone, over 49.31 lakh farmer families will benefit from more than Rs 986 crore directly deposited into their bank accounts.
Additionally, local programs will be hosted at all ICAR institutes, central agricultural universities, state agricultural universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras to live-stream the Prime Minister’s address.
A significant turnout of farmers, officials, and public representatives is anticipated at these venues.
Since its inception, the PM-KISAN scheme has extended income support to over 11 crore farmer families across India, disbursing upwards of Rs 3,91,000 crore through 20 instalments.
Farmers in Gujarat have also seen considerable benefits, having received over Rs 21,000 crore from earlier instalments.
