New Delhi, Feb 23 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to unveil the 19th installment of PM Kisan Saman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on February 24. A total of Rs 22,000 crore will be directly transferred to 9.8 crore farmers' accounts via the DBT (Direct Beneficiary Transfer) scheme. Under the PM Kisan initiative, qualifying farmers benefit from Rs 2,000 every four months, culminating in Rs 6,000 annually.

This edition features a unique awareness program aimed at enlightening farmers about various innovations and modern techniques in agriculture, alongside opportunities for direct engagement with the Prime Minister.

The event is set to take place at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barthin in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh.

Rajesh Kumar, the Bilaspur Deputy Director of Agriculture, referred to this as a ‘historic opportunity’ for farmers, emphasizing that the 19th tranche of PM-KISAN will enhance their economic conditions.

Approximately 150 farmers are expected to attend this initiative organized by the Agriculture Department. An exhibition showcasing coarse grains and natural products will also be held at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, aimed at educating farmers about these offerings.

The program will be broadcast live, and a quiz will be conducted to furnish farmers with valuable agriculture-related knowledge.

It’s noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi had previously released the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme on October 5, 2024, in the Washim district of Maharashtra, benefiting over 9.4 crore farmers with direct financial assistance exceeding Rs 20,000 crore via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
