New Delhi, May 31 (NationPress) In a recent statement, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to Atmanirbharta in defence production since 2014 has played a pivotal role in India successfully executing Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.
“This approach stands in stark contrast to the previous administration that claimed insufficient funds for defence procurement,” she remarked, indirectly referencing the Congress-led UPA government.
Speaking at the National Commemorative Seminar marking 60 Years of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's Integral Humanism Lectures, she emphasized that ensuring national defence should be among a nation's top priorities, a principle championed by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and actively pursued by the Modi administration.
The Finance Minister discussed Upadhyaya's advocacy for integrating the 7 'M's into planning for employment generation, aimed at fostering Bharatiya Technology. These components include man, money, material, management, motive, market, and machine.
She further noted that Upadhyaya emphasized the importance of considering the individual's dignity at the base of the societal structure during planning to facilitate upliftment.
“Both former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the current leadership of Prime Minister Modi have ensured that government policies reflect the principles of Integral Humanism,” Sitharaman stated.
“By lifting individuals out of poverty and providing employment and improved living standards, we enhance access to the nation’s productive capacities, thus raising overall production levels,” she elaborated.
Additionally, the Finance Minister reiterated that the motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayaas” embodies the essence of Antyodaya.
