Bhopal, Aug 7 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to distribute relief funds to individuals impacted by natural disasters, including heavy rainfall and floods, in Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
The aid will address various losses, such as fatalities, livestock deaths, and damage to homes and infrastructure, as stated by the Chief Minister's office on Thursday.
The funds will be transferred via a single-click method during a video conference held from the Chief Minister's residence, Samatva Bhavan in Bhopal, where CM Yadav will also engage with some of the flood victims who were rescued.
According to Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, Vivek Porwal, relief efforts are ongoing for those affected by the natural calamities and excessive rains throughout the monsoon of 2025 in various districts across the state.
As reported previously on Sunday, the state government indicated that over 252 individuals have lost their lives during the current monsoon season, with more than 30 fatalities occurring in the Guna and Ashoknagar districts alone.
In addition to human casualties, approximately 432 animals and 1,200 poultry birds have perished due to rain-related events. The intense rainfall has also resulted in significant damage to homes and infrastructure.
A total of 128 houses have been completely destroyed, and another 2,333 have experienced partial damage.
Moreover, around 254 rural roads have been compromised due to the heavy rains, according to the data shared in the statement.
Approximately 4,000 individuals have been rescued from affected areas and relocated to relief camps.
Over 50 relief camps have been established across various regions of the state, predominantly in Gwalior-Chambal and Sagar divisions.
To bolster the response initiatives, the state government has designated Rs 3,600 crore for the relief fund, with Rs 28.49 crore already allocated through local authorities, as stated by Chief Minister Yadav on August 3.
The state has received 711.3 mm of rainfall thus far, which is 59 percent above the average. Forty districts have reported above-normal rainfall this season, according to state government data.
