What Happened at Temni Khurd
According to police, a head-on collision between an overloaded pickup truck carrying labourers and a truck took place near Temni Khurd village on the Chhindwara-Betul National Highway at approximately 10 am. Civil Surgeon Dr Sushil Dubey confirmed that among the five deceased were three women and two men, all labourers from Machhera village. Eighteen other workers sustained injuries, several of them critically. The administration has yet to release the names of those who died or the critically injured persons.
Medical Response and Treatment
A team of 20 to 25 doctors is attending to the injured at Chhindwara District Hospital. One worker remains in critical condition and has been referred to the Medical College in Nagpur for specialised treatment. Police and administrative officials reached the scene immediately after the accident.
