New Delhi, Feb 11 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, is set to inaugurate the five-day-long exhibition organized by the Forest Department, named ‘Mahakal Van Mela’, in the sacred city of Ujjain on Wednesday.
This grand event will take place at the Dussehra ground situated in Sethi Nagar. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will also unveil the ‘Mahakal Smriti Gift’, created by the MFP Park (Minor Forest Produce Processing & Research Centre).
Additionally, a new initiative called ‘Mahakal Van Prasadam’ will be launched by the Forest Department, according to a statement released from the Chief Minister’s office on Tuesday.
The ‘Mahakal Van Mela’ will revolve around the theme of ‘prosperous forests, happy people’ and is scheduled from February 11 to February 16. This marks the inaugural occurrence of a Van Mela in the holy city of Ujjain, as stated by the government.
The aim of this Van Mela is to foster the display, conservation, enhancement, processing, and marketing of non-timber forest produce sourced from forest dwellers throughout the state.
Participants will include collectors of non-timber forest produce, Van Dhan Kendras, Primary Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Societies, traders, and representatives from the herbal and Ayurvedic industries, who will showcase and sell their products.
Visitors can expect facilities such as a kids’ zone, wheelchairs, golf carts, comfortable seating areas, water stations, and selfie points. The fair will also hold buyer-seller meetings, free medical consultations by Ayurvedic practitioners and traditional healers, cultural programs, and a variety of traditional food offerings.
Special highlights of the event include a large sculpture of a cheetah family and dinosaurs, wheelchair and golf cart services for elderly attendees, designated seating for patients from the OPD, a complimentary bus service from the Mahakal temple to the fair venue, and an engaging kids’ zone.
During the event, the Chief Minister will present certificates of appreciation to the Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs), the Managing Director of the District Union South Panna, and the Forest Guard from the District Union South Panna.
