Ujjain, Feb 11 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, on Wednesday, launched and laid the groundwork for various development initiatives, notably the Hariyakhedi water augmentation scheme, with a total investment exceeding Rs 1,133 crore, during a public event in Ujjain.
During this event, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also initiated a maternal and child nutrition program with a single click.
Following this, he toured an exhibition showcasing the water augmentation project at the Kalidas Academy in Ujjain.
According to the Chief Minister, this initiative will see the construction of 17 new overhead tanks, each with a capacity ranging from 600 to 3,000 kilolitres, across the city.
“A pipeline spanning 708 km will be installed, along with approximately 534 km of new distribution network. This project aims to secure Ujjain city’s water supply through 2055,” he stated.
At another gathering, the Chief Minister provided laptops to students who excelled under the ‘Project Swadhyay’, wishing them a successful future. He also distributed wireless devices to sanitation inspectors and kits to sanitation workers.
Later, in a different event in his home district, Chief Minister Yadav inaugurated a five-day exhibition by the Forest Department named ‘Mahakal Van Mela’, being held at the Dussehra Ground.
The ‘Mahakal Van Mela’ is based on the theme ‘Prosperous forests, happy people’ and runs from February 11 to February 16.
This marks the inaugural Van Mela in the sacred city of Ujjain.
Participating in the event were collectors of non-timber forest produce, representatives from Van Dhan Kendras, primary minor forest produce cooperative societies, traders, and members of the herbal and Ayurvedic industries.
Beyond the exhibition, visitors can enjoy numerous activities, including buyer-seller meets, free medical consultations by Ayurvedic doctors and traditional healers, cultural programs, and traditional food offerings.
The Chief Minister also awarded certificates of appreciation to Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs), the Managing Director of District Union South Panna, and a Forest Guard from District Union South Panna.
