Bhopal, Aug 13 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to convene a roundtable discussion with more than 15 prominent apparel and textile brand representatives from both domestic and international markets on investment prospects at his residence in Bhopal this Thursday.
The gathering will include an in-depth presentation highlighting the state’s advanced industrial infrastructure, featuring the PM Mitra Park, a skilled workforce, and its strategic location, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Wednesday.
During the roundtable, Yadav will articulate the state’s vision for the sector, discussing the textile policy, potential investment opportunities, and the initiative titled ‘Made in MP – Wear across the World’.
"This event aims to promote direct communication between local manufacturers and international brands, thereby enhancing exports, generating new job opportunities, and accelerating economic growth in the state," the statement notes.
Furthermore, an MoU will be established between the BSL (Brand and Sourcing Leader) Association and the Madhya Pradesh government, ensuring enduring collaboration in three crucial areas: investment promotion, sourcing facilitation, and capacity building.
The BSL Association is a leader in the global textile and apparel trade, valued at over USD 55 billion, and is linked with more than 250 leading buyers and sourcing organizations.
According to the government, it acts as a vital link between Indian manufacturers and international brands.
"Through this agreement, Madhya Pradesh will be prioritized as a manufacturing hub for international buyers, granting ‘Made in MP’ recognition worldwide," the government remarked.
Madhya Pradesh ranks among India's leading raw cotton-producing states, with an annual output of around 18 lakh bales (approximately 3 lakh metric tons).
"Our objective is to showcase how Madhya Pradesh, positioned at the heart of India, has evolved into an ideal and sustainable hub for the textile and apparel industry," Chief Minister Yadav stated prior to a week-long foreign business trip to the UAE and Spain in July.
