Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, transferred the 41st installment of the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana, depositing ₹1,500 each into the bank accounts of approximately 1.25 crore women beneficiaries across the state. The transfer was executed during a special conference held at Guruwahi village in the Manpur Janpad Panchayat area of Umaria district, coinciding with the Navratri festival.
How the Transfer Was Carried Out
The funds were disbursed through a single-click process, with amounts routed directly into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts registered for Direct Benefit Transfer. Women who additionally receive social security pensions are entitled to ₹900 per month under the scheme's established provisions.
By September 2026, a total of 40 installments had already been paid since the scheme's launch. The 41st installment, released on Tuesday, brings the cumulative outreach of the programme to its latest milestone.
Development Projects Unveiled at Guruwahi
Beyond the financial transfer, Chief Minister Yadav gifted the district development projects worth more than ₹144 crore. A total of 136 projects were either inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid at the Guruwahi conference, with a combined cost of ₹14,415.93 lakh (approximately ₹144.16 crore).
Of these, 68 projects costing ₹8,731.55 lakh were inaugurated, while foundation stones were laid for another 68 projects worth ₹5,684.41 lakh. CM Yadav's Political Message and Additional Announcements
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yadav drew a pointed political contrast, claiming that while the Congress spent only ₹22,000 crore on Ladli Behna beneficiaries over 55 years, the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government has already disbursed ₹37,000 crore under the scheme. He criticised the Congress for opposing direct financial assistance to women.
The Chief Minister also announced the transfer of more than ₹115 crore to 23 lakh women for Ujjwala gas connections. Additional announcements included free house registration for villagers, government bus services to remote areas, and facilities at Sandipani schools — covering buses, meals, cycles, laptops, and scooties for meritorious students.
Further sops included dairy farming subsidies for Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Class families, home-stay support for tourism development, air ambulance services, and assistance for wildlife-related incidents. On the administrative front, the Manpur Community Health Centre is to be upgraded to a civil hospital, and Amarpur will be created as a new tehsil.
Scheme Background and Budget Outlay
The Ladli Behna Yojana was launched in June 2023 with the stated objective of making women financially self-reliant, improving their health and nutritional status, and strengthening their role in family decision-making. The state government has made a budgetary provision of ₹23,882.81 crore for the scheme in the financial year 2026-27.
With 1.25 crore beneficiaries receiving monthly support and a growing infrastructure investment footprint in districts like Umaria, the scheme is shaping up as one of the Madhya Pradesh government's most visible welfare instruments ahead of future electoral cycles.
