Bhopal, Dec 13 (NationPress) The Congress party has launched a fierce critique of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh regarding the recent escalation of security protocols for Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in both Bhopal and New Delhi.
The party claims that the administration led by Mohan Yadav has failed to provide sufficient protection for the senior politician, prompting intervention from the central government.
In a video message shared with the media, Congress media spokesperson Mukesh Nayak stated, “Supporters of Shivraj Singh Chouhan have begun circulating rumors that he is being positioned as the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party; which could be seen as a positive development. However, the real motive behind enhancing his security is the negligence of adequate safety measures by the Mohan Yadav-led government. This is why the Centre has urged the state government to bolster Chouhan’s security.”
Simultaneously, police sources have confirmed that the Union Home Ministry issued last-minute directives to reinforce security measures following new intelligence reports.
Authorities acted promptly, deploying additional personnel and amplifying surveillance in both Bhopal and Delhi.
At Chouhan’s residence located at B-8 in 74 Bungalows, Bhopal, extra barricades have been established, and entry and exit checks have been intensified, with increased patrolling in the nearby areas.
In Delhi, the official residence of the Union Minister is now under heightened security, with the Delhi Police conducting a thorough review and assigning additional officers as per standard procedures. Despite already having Z+ category security, the measures were expanded after intelligence alerts were considered critical.
The Union Home Ministry has instructed the Director General of Police in Madhya Pradesh, the Special Commissioner of Police (Security) in Delhi, and the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh to guarantee that security protocols are further strengthened.
This situation has ignited political contention, with Congress questioning the state government’s approach to security, while officials stress that the increased measures are precautionary and based on intelligence evaluations.
