MP Disturbance: 19-Year-Old Female Assaulted in Forest; Six Arrested

Bhopal, Dec 31 (NationPress) A 19-year-old female was reportedly dragged into a forest and gang-raped in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district, as stated by the police on Tuesday.

The incident took place in a village encompassed by a dense forest area under Jiyawan police station, approximately 35 km from the district headquarters in Singrauli on Monday evening.

This shocking event was uncovered after the victim and her parents arrived at the Jiyawan police station to file a complaint on Tuesday.

According to law enforcement, the victim reported that while she and a male friend were heading home on Monday evening, a group of men ambushed them.

The assailants physically assaulted her male companion and forced him to flee. Following this, they overpowered the young girl and dragged her into the forest. Two of the attackers took turns assaulting her, while the others fled the site.

Her assaulted male friend informed the survivor's family, who hurried to the location but arrived after the perpetrators had escaped.

After returning home, the victim disclosed the incident to her parents, prompting them to approach the police and officially file a report.

After receiving the complaint, the police arranged for the victim to undergo a medical examination, which confirmed the act of rape. In response, multiple teams were organized to locate the assailants.

"All six individuals have been apprehended and charged under the appropriate laws, with investigations currently ongoing," stated Singrauli Additional SP Shivkumar Verma.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sugreev Rawat, Vakar Rawat, Rajesh Rawat, Dinesh Rawat, Sunil Rawat, and Sanjay Rawat. All of them are residents of Akori village in Singrauli.
