Madhya Pradesh targets ₹40,000 crore tech investment at MP Tech Conclave 3.0
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday, 13 July declared that the state is rapidly emerging as a premier destination for technology investments, spotlighting progress in artificial intelligence (AI), data centres, and semiconductor manufacturing. Speaking at the MP Tech Growth Conclave 3.0: GCC, Data Centre and Semiconductor in Bhopal, Yadav said the state had honoured every commitment made at the previous two editions of the event.
Key Announcements at the Conclave
Chief Minister Yadav inaugurated 20 industrial units during the event and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Google Play India Lead and the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC). He also announced the development of a three lakh square feet IT Park in Indore's IT Corridor and a four lakh square feet IT Park in Bhopal. Additionally, the state will establish a Semiconductor Centre of Excellence to drive skill development and strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem.
Investment Track Record and Fresh Pledges
'In the last two years, we have fulfilled the commitments we made. The first two editions of the conclave received investment proposals worth ₹46,000 crore. Twenty-two industrial units have been inaugurated, and four new projects have been launched. Since the Global Investors Summit 2025, more than ₹12,000 crore has already been invested in the technology sector,' CM Yadav said.
Chief Secretary Anurag Jain confirmed that the ₹12,000 crore in digital and technology investments had already been implemented on the ground. He added that companies participating in the conclave were expected to announce fresh investment proposals worth over ₹40,000 crore. Among the headline commitments, a Spain-based group reiterated its plan to establish a data centre in Madhya Pradesh, while a semiconductor company announced an investment of ₹6,000 crore in the state.
Madhya Pradesh's Sectoral Pivot
Yadav acknowledged that Madhya Pradesh had historically been associated with agriculture, mining, and forestry, but stressed that the state was now aggressively diversifying into defence manufacturing, drones, renewable energy, and advanced technology. 'Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead rapidly in future-oriented sectors. The state government is committed to promoting AI, data centres, semiconductors and other technology-based industries,' he said.
The conclave brought together government officials, industry leaders, and technology companies to explore investment opportunities in Global Capability Centres (GCCs), data centres, and semiconductor manufacturing — three segments that have seen intense competition among Indian states in recent years.
Infrastructure Push to Attract Tech Companies
'The government is creating world-class infrastructure to support technology companies and attract more investment to Madhya Pradesh,' CM Yadav said. The twin IT Parks in Indore and Bhopal, combined with the Semiconductor Centre of Excellence, signal a deliberate push to build physical and institutional capacity alongside financial incentives.
With fresh proposals expected to cross ₹40,000 crore and implementation of earlier commitments already underway, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself as a serious contender in India's increasingly competitive technology investment landscape.
