Bhopal, April 7 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh government is set to hold a state-level cooperative milk producers event - ‘Gopal Sammelan’ in Bhopal on April 13, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday.

He noted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is anticipated to grace the occasion.

“At this event, a collaborative agreement is expected to be signed between the MP State Co-operative Dairy Federation Limited, associated milk unions, and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB),” stated the Chief Minister.

He further mentioned that the state government is taking a significant step towards enhancing the livelihood of farmers and livestock rearing communities through this collaborative agreement among the milk unions, NDDB, and the MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation (MPCDF).

“The government is dedicated to ensuring that milk is procured directly from farmers and livestock rearers at equitable prices. Under the White Revolution Mission, the number of milk coolers, mini dairy plants, and chilling centers will be augmented in collaboration with Sanchi Dairy in every district,” he added.

Plans are underway to establish new dairy cooperative societies in numerous villages, linking milk-producing farmers to the cooperative dairy initiative.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is currently the third-largest milk producer in India, and efforts will be made to expand the coverage of cooperative societies to guarantee that milk producers gain the full advantages of the cooperative dairy program.

“The milk processing capacity is set to increase from 1.8 million liters per day to 3 million liters per day. This surge in milk production will also bolster dairy producer organizations. Farmers will have a significant new income stream alongside traditional agriculture, contributing to the state's overall development,” he remarked.

Initially, the signing of the collaboration agreement was slated for the last day of the Global Investment Summit (GIS) on February 25, but it was postponed.

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has already approved this agreement, which is intended for an initial five-year term with an option for extension by mutual consent.
