Bhopal, Nov 22 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government of Madhya Pradesh has called on citizens to share their thoughts on the budget for the financial year 2026–27. In response, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) and Congress MLA, Umang Singhar, emphasized that employment must be prioritized by the state administration.
Singhar pointed out that while the government claims to be preparing the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, these plans have largely been theoretical.
He insisted that the administration needs to reveal the expenditures from last year's budget.
According to Singhar, "The previous budget failed to address essential priorities for youth, farmers, and individuals from the ST/SC categories. Any provisions made were merely superficial, with funds diverted towards the luxuries of ministers and the purchase of helicopters."
The state government has announced its intention to prepare a budget that is more inclusive and has invited public input regarding various sectors, aiming for what it calls a 'public budget'.
Suggestions are welcome on topics such as rural development, revival of traditional trades, drinking water supply, sanitation, rural infrastructure enhancement, cattle protection, and secure grazing land usage.
Residents are also invited to propose ideas for agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, animal husbandry, food processing, export-driven industries, forest product processing, and pharmaceutical production, along with other promising local industries.
All contributions submitted through the 'MP MyGov' platform will be prioritized in the budget formulation process.
Officials informed IANS that for the first time, the Madhya Pradesh government is planning to introduce a three-year rolling budget that will encompass the financial years 2027-28 and 2028-29.
