Bhopal/Sheopur, Oct 22 (NationPress) In a touching speech after the Diwali celebrations, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav reiterated his administration's dedication to the welfare of women, farmers, youth, and the economically disadvantaged.
In his remarks ahead of Bhai Dooj, Dr Yadav referred to the state's sisters as “our pride”, announcing that an extra Rs 250 would be deposited into their accounts as a festive offering, distinct from the usual Ladli Bahna Yojana payments.
The Ladli Bahna Yojana, a cornerstone of the state’s social welfare framework, saw its 29th installment of Rs 1,541 crore disbursed to over 1.26 crore beneficiaries on October 12 in Sheopur district.
Under this initiative, women currently receive Rs 1,500 monthly, with plans to gradually increase this amount to Rs 3,000 by 2028.
Dr Yadav compared the essence of the scheme to the relationship between Lord Krishna and his sister Subhadra, highlighting its cultural significance. “The treasury of the government is not wanting,” he declared, “and wherever the Ladli Bahna scheme has reached, happiness and prosperity have followed.”
He assured that the state would persist in protecting the dignity and financial security of its mothers and sisters, committing to spare no effort in this mission.
Shifting focus to agriculture, the Chief Minister emphasized the government's initiatives to assist farmers impacted by natural disasters.
A relief package of Rs 1,800 crore was provided to cultivators in Rabi districts following comprehensive assessments of damage caused by heavy rains, hailstorms, and yellow mosaic disease.
Swift administrative actions were taken to ensure timely support, with Dr Yadav reiterating that the government stands firmly with its farmers during tough times.
He also mentioned that the Bhavantar Yojana, designed to protect farmers from market price volatility, has been relaunched as a “gift” to the agricultural sector.
The festive season, he remarked, has evolved into a period not only for celebration but also for significant support—transforming Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj into moments of empowerment and unity.
In his closing comments, Dr Yadav congratulated all the state's women, whom he affectionately calls sisters, reaffirming that their welfare remains at the forefront of the government's vision for a flourishing and inclusive Madhya Pradesh.
