Bhopal, March 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, is set to disburse the 34th installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, a cash benefit initiative by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), at a formal gathering in Gwalior this Friday.
During the Ladli Behna Sammelan at the Shabari Mata Temple in Gwalior, Chief Minister Yadav will directly credit the funds to the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore women beneficiaries of the scheme.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister will engage with some recipients to understand how they make use of the Rs 1,500 monthly support offered under the Ladli Behna Yojana.
Initiated in June 2023, this scheme has become a cornerstone for enhancing economic confidence and ensuring social dignity for women in the state. From June 2023 to February 2026, a total of 33 installments have been consistently credited.
As per state government reports, approximately Rs 54,140 crore has been injected directly into the accounts of the women benefiting from this initiative.
The government has revealed plans to expand support to include opportunities for skill enhancement, employment, and self-employment for women involved in the scheme, enabling them to achieve self-sufficiency and make substantial contributions to their families and communities.
Initially, the Ladli Behna Yojana started with a monthly payment of Rs 1,000, which was later raised to Rs 1,250 and subsequently to Rs 1,500. The BJP administration aims to raise this amount to Rs 3,000 per month by 2028.
Moreover, the Chief Minister will also conduct the bhoomi pujan and launch 54 development projects in the Gwalior district, which have a combined estimated expenditure of around Rs 122 crore.
Featured among these projects is the construction of the Sandipani School building in Kulaith, which has cost about Rs 40 crore, along with a high-level bridge over the Sank River on the Dada Khirk–Tighra road, completed at a cost of Rs 9.11 crore.
Additional projects include the Sub-Health Centre at Banheri and the construction of new roads across both urban and rural segments of the Gwalior district.
