Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday, 16 July extended a direct invitation to domestic and global textile companies to invest in the state, asserting that Madhya Pradesh offers the country's cheapest electricity, investor-friendly policies, and has cleared all pending subsidy dues to industries up to May 2026. Yadav made the pitch at a roundtable meeting with leading textile investors, industry representatives, and global brands at Bharat Tex 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

Key Commitments to Investors

The Chief Minister stated that the state government has fulfilled all commitments made to industrialists. Subsidies across sectors have been disbursed through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, with all outstanding dues cleared through May 2026. Yadav said the state is fully equipped to support industrial growth, from land and labour to power and logistics.

On the energy front, he highlighted that Madhya Pradesh currently offers the cheapest industrial electricity in the country, giving manufacturers a competitive cost edge. He added that the state has made significant strides in green energy, with substantial capacity now coming from solar and pumped-storage projects.

PM MITRA Park in Dhar: A Textile Anchor Project

Yadav placed particular emphasis on the PM MITRA Park coming up in Dhar district — described as the country's first under the Centre's flagship PM MITRA initiative. The integrated park is designed to create an end-to-end ecosystem spanning cotton farming, textile manufacturing, garment production, and export linkages to global markets.

The project is expected to generate approximately three lakh direct and indirect jobs and benefit more than six lakh cotton growers in the Malwa-Nimar region. Yadav said the state is fully prepared to partner with the Central government and international brands to strengthen India's position in global textile supply chains.

Madhya Pradesh's Textile Heritage

The Chief Minister also invoked the state's centuries-old textile tradition to reinforce its credentials. He cited Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees as globally recognised brands and credited Queen Ahilyabai Holkar with historically promoting Maheshwari textiles and sustaining weaver livelihoods. This heritage, Yadav argued, gives Madhya Pradesh a cultural and craft depth that newer industrial destinations cannot replicate.

Bilateral Meetings and Broader Pitch

On the sidelines of the Bharat Tex roundtable, Yadav held one-to-one meetings with investors and industry representatives to discuss specific investment opportunities in the state's textile and apparel sector. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, saying Bharat Tex has emerged as a critical platform for connecting Indian manufacturers with global investors and buyers. The Chief Minister said the textile and garment sector is already contributing meaningfully to the state's economy through employment generation and value addition.

With the PM MITRA Park in Dhar set to become a landmark project and the state's power tariff advantage drawing fresh attention, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself as a frontline destination in India's bid to expand its share of global textile trade.
