Shahdol (MP), Oct 22 - In a shocking event that has rattled the peaceful village of Balbahra in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, a brutal attack has resulted in the deaths of two brothers and left a third in a critical state.

The incident occurred during the early hours of October 21 at an auto parts store, where a group of eight to ten assailants launched a premeditated attack under the supervision of the Keshwahi Police Station.

As the community reels from this atrocity, law enforcement is working diligently to piece together the events surrounding this heinous crime. The victims have been identified as the Tiwari brothers - Rakesh, Rahul, and Satish - who fell victim to a carefully coordinated ambush.

Rakesh died at the scene, while Rahul, despite urgent efforts to save him, passed away from his injuries en route to the hospital.

Satish, the youngest sibling, is currently fighting for his life at Shahdol Medical College Hospital, where his situation is described as grave. The testimony provided by Rahul before his death is a crucial piece of evidence in the ongoing police investigation, offering significant leads.

Following his account, charges have been filed against the identified suspects. Although the specific motive remains undisclosed, local gossip suggests a longstanding personal dispute.

Vikas Pandey, SDOP (Dhanpuri), stated to IANS, “We’ve detained several suspects, including the main accused, Anurag Sharma, and our investigation is in full swing.”

In light of this severe incident, the Shahdol Superintendent of Police has taken immediate action, removing the Keshwahi Police Post in-charge amid allegations of negligence.

Police teams are actively conducting searches in the area to capture the remaining offenders. Villagers organized a ‘chakka jam’ on National Highway No. 43 until the superintendent addressed their concerns regarding police actions.

To prevent further unrest, additional law enforcement personnel have been deployed, and patrols have been intensified. Local leaders are advocating for prompt justice and enhanced security measures to protect against future incidents. A murder case has been registered against all suspects, and an investigation has commenced.

Authorities revealed that a land dispute between the Tiwari and Sharma families has existed since 2021. Injured Rahul Tiwari recorded a video on his mobile device before passing away, in which he named the accused.
