Rewa, Oct 23 (NationPress) In a tragic event, at least three individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries following a collision between two tractor-trolleys in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district. The accident took place in Ambha village, located approximately 35 km from the district headquarters on Wednesday night.

The deceased were residents of Sar N.1 village within the Gangeo block.

One of the relatives of the victims, Rajput Saket akka Kallu, shared with IANS that the incident resulted in the death of two individuals, including one of his cousins.

"The health status of at least four injured individuals remains critical; they have been on ventilators for the last 10 hours at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. Others have suffered minor injuries," Saket informed IANS on Thursday.

Of the critically injured, two have been referred to Jabalpur Medical College and Nagpur for additional treatment.

The Saket family was en route to celebrate the birth of a boy, which regrettably turned into a period of mourning.

They had hired a tractor from the village to attend a 'Barhon' (birth celebration) program in Sirmour.

As they approached Ambha village, a tractor from the opposite direction collided with theirs, causing people to be thrown from the vehicle," Saket recounted.

He noted that roughly 25-30 people were aboard the tractor trolley, while another, laden with wood for construction, was traveling in the opposite direction.

Upon receiving the report, local police quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (SGMH), situated about 30 km from the accident site.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Saurabh Goyal reported that 12 injured individuals were admitted to SGMH, four of whom were in critical condition.

Two of the critically injured have been sent to Jabalpur Medical College and Nagpur for surgical procedures, while the others continue to receive care at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.

In the meantime, police have launched an investigation and registered a case regarding the incident, seizing the tractor-trolley involved on Thursday morning.
