The couple had celebrated their marriage on Friday in a modest temple ceremony attended by close family members.
On Saturday, they were traveling back to the groom’s village with other relatives in the auto-rickshaw. With them were the groom’s mother, Anvesh Shakya (50), his sister-in-law Rajo Shakya (22), and his sister Bhuriya Shakya (19).
The driver had paused the auto-rickshaw near the petrol station, stepping out with one passenger to visit a nearby shop when the tragic incident occurred. The truck's forceful overturn completely buried the auto-rickshaw beneath it.
The area was filled with cries of distress as local residents hurried to the scene.
Authorities, including police and district administration teams, quickly arrived and utilized an earthmoving machine to lift the overturned truck and rescue the trapped individuals from the wrecked auto-rickshaw.
The injured have been transported to a local hospital where they are currently receiving medical attention.
Initial police investigations indicate that the truck may have lost control due to mechanical failure or driver error, although further inquiries are ongoing.
A case has been registered, and efforts are being made to determine the precise cause of this tragic event.
