He stressed the importance of expediting the work to ensure its completion within a minimal timeframe. He noted that the restoration of heritage sites is a highly technical task that requires meticulous attention and skilled professionals to execute effectively.

The Chief Secretary directed that the complex's original splendor be restored while preserving its aesthetic appeal in line with its historical significance. He visited the renovated Darbar Hall, which currently houses the Dogra Art Museum, exploring various sections such as the Numismatics Gallery, Jewellery Section, Archaeology Section, and Master Sansarch and Gallery, where a rich collection of historical artifacts is displayed.

He also evaluated the progress in the restoration of notable structures like Raja Ram Singh’s and Raja Amar Singh Palaces, as well as the Museum building, which is nearing completion and will showcase a range of historically significant antiquities from different areas of this monument.

Additionally, he assessed the necessity for developing a multi-story parking facility for visitor convenience, along with enhancing the courtyard's aesthetics and creating other amenities in collaboration with INTACH.

The Chief Secretary pointed out that with the collaboration already initiated under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the complex is set to become one of the key tourist attractions in Jammu city.

During his visit, the Principal Secretary of Culture provided insights into the plans for the adaptive reuse of the restored structures and other facets of this extensive project.

He announced that bids have been invited for the appointment of a transaction advisor for this initiative, with work on the project set to commence shortly.

The Executive Director of MMJHS presented an overview of the goals and objectives linked to the conservation of this complex. She elaborated on the work completed so far and outlined future reuse strategies for various structures intended for use as display galleries, museums, libraries, and cultural centers.

The first vision document for the conservation of this complex was prepared by INTACH in 2008, followed by a comprehensive master plan that received approval in 2019.

Essentially, the complex has been segmented into six zones, including Public Zone, Knowledge Centre, Interpretation & Collection Galleries, Lifestyle, Experiential Spaces, and Crafts Bazaar.

It was also disclosed that under this Master Plan, an investment of Rs 144.15 Cr is allocated for various sub-projects associated with this heritage complex.
